One of my TAs shared a really lovely UC essay with me and agreed to let my classes see it. It's 350 words and each one is amazing :)

Your extra credit will be to read the book The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien and complete two activities.
1. Earn a C or better on an objective test, which will be given during the second or third week of May. 2. Talk to me about the character you like the best or find the most interesting and be able to explain to me why you like that character. Furthermore, explain the idea of a true war story. What is Tim O'Brien saying about truth? Finally, chose one post-modern element and explain to me how he uses it to support a theme in the story. Rather than turning in more paper, I'd like to hear what you think. These conversations can take place during class (if appropriate--and there will be time during AP testing week), during class and after school. Please remember that extra credit is completely optional. |
