I wanted to write something witty, but look at face! What a cutie! Someday when we are free of this coronamenace, I want to pet and cuddle these animals 😀
CB is planning a shortened version of the AP test that you can take at home. More information will be coming via email on April 3rd (which means that the CB is NOT celebrating Renga's birthday with a release of practice tests--we'll have to celebrate Renga without them). Please check out the screenshot below from one of CB's muckety-mucks:
Riri is a happy furry girl who sports advanced degrees in stick finding! Thank you, Laurel for sharing! Remember to flatten the curve and read the post below title "We Live In Interesting Times" if you haven't
JJ is a potato-sized fur ball of adorableness, dressed in the latest in guinea pig-streetwear!
*Please check out the post "We Live in Interesting Times" below and remember to flatten the curve! I hope you are all well. After two days of lazily alternating between reading Henry James, watching old episodes of 30 Rock and cuddling my cats, I have overcome my cold and banished my migraine. Many of you have reached out about what the expectations are for outstanding assignments. My plan is this:
The most important thing is to try to end this epidemic as quickly as possible and save as many lives as possible. We do that by staying inside and if we go outside, we stay away from groups of people. So there are a lot of opportunities for hiking (if the rain stops-- not that I want it to), reading, binge-watching great television (anyone ever watch Fargo the TV show? my all- time favorite), and engaging in some very thorough Spring-cleaning, including steam-cleaning carpets and re-organizing our closets! (ok, that's probably just me). SJUSD has disconnected our email, so if you have questions or want to chat, post here. Please be healthy and stay safe and FLATTEN THAT CURVE! Here's Thelonious Monk from earlier today working hard to heed the Public Health Department's recommendations. If you are bored email me pictures of your pet(s) and I'll post them here for us all to aww [email protected] (this is only for pet pictures and I will not answer school-related questions on personal email. I have a cold (after a migraine yesterday); I'm staying home tomorrow. Audrey C., Madison N., Aaron Z, and Yeon Joon N. your topics for the argument essay have been approved. Anyone else still trying to get a topic approved can email me this weekend.
Please make sure to pass back papers tomorrow as a handout explaining what you are going to do tomorrow is in those boxes. Please pass out one copy to each student. Have fun tomorrow!
Anyone who missed the essay, I highly recommend that you make it up during tutorial tomorrow. Everyone is welcome to my tutorial tomorrow but it will be a silent tutorial to allow students to make up their essays.
And is there one 5th period student who can stay after class on Thursday to help the substitute maneuver the cart back over to that little room next door to mine? Extra participation points and gratitude will be yours! Remember to bring Gatsby to class on Thursday so that you can take advantage of the free time (probably about a half an hour) and get some work done. Much education today is monumentally ineffective. All too often we are giving young people cut flowers when we should be teaching them to grow their own plants-- John W Gardner
